WHAT IS A MATTRESS RECYCLING FEE?

New laws in California, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Oregon now require retailers to collect a small fee at checkout for each mattress sold.

The fees are then moved to each respective state to fund their mattress recycling programs. The collection of these fees are mandated by these new laws. Even if you are not disposing of an old mattress now, you may be doing so down the line,  and the collection of these fees help cover these eventual an inevitable costs.

The Mattress Recycling Council (MRC), is a non-profit organization that has been established by the mattress industry. They create and manage this program. The MRC uses a network of organizations to pickup, transport, and recycled old mattresses within the new government mandates. To learn more, you can read the following FAQ’s about the fees: https://mattressrecyclingcouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/MRC-ConsumerQuestions-FINAL-2020.pdf and/or visit https://mattressrecyclingcouncil.org/

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MEMORY FOAM?

Memory foam is pressure and temperature sensitive which allows it contour to your body. This body contouring helps to reduce pressure points that cause discomfort and tossing & turning. Our premium memory foam feels comfortable and luxurious so you can get the rest your body craves.

WHAT IS GEL MEMORY FOAM?

Gel memory foam is the same pressure and temperature sensitive foam as traditional memory foam but it is infused with gel. This provides the comfort and pressure relief of memory foam along with the heat dissipating and cooling benefits of gel blended into the memory foam.

WHAT IS LATEX FOAM?

Latex foam is made from 100% natural latex from the rubber tree that is whipped up and heated to produce the foam. It can also be made from a blend of synthetic and natural materials. It has higher density than polyurethane foam. Resilient and supportive latex foam is considered the ultimate cushioning material.

Natural Latex is nature’s best sleep surface. Latex conforms to the body for exceptional orthopedic support and pressure relief without the ‘sinking-in’ feeling of memory foam. Made with natural latex from rubber trees. Eco-Friendly Latex is renewable and sustainable.

WHAT DOES TWO-SIDED MEAN?

Our two sided foam mattresses use comfortable and supportive foam: the original cushioning sleep surface which allows for a reversible and lightweight construction. Our two sided foam mattresses help reduce tossing and turning while also providing outstanding support. This design allows for increased longevity and comfort since the mattress can be effortlessly turned over so it can be used on either side.

WHY DO SOME OF YOUR MATTRESSES HAVE MULTIPLE LAYERS?

In addition to the top layer of foam that forms the sleep surface, foam mattresses can have additional layers. The base layer of high density polyurethane foam provides support and stability for your foam mattress. All memory foam mattresses will have a base layer that provides stability and support underneath the memory foam layer. In addition, some mattresses will have a transition layer of foam.

which sits between the memory foam top layer and the base foam, optimizing the pressure relieving benefits of the memory foam top layer.

WILL I EVER NEED TO FLIP MY MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS?

Unless specified, our memory foam mattresses have a ‘no-flip’ design. Mattresses can be rotated according to comfort preference.

WILL MY MATTRESS FEEL FIRMER IF THE ROOM’S TEMPERATURE IS LOW?

Yes. Foam is temperature sensitive. It will get softer as the heat from your body raises the temperature of the foam. If your mattress has been subjected to temperatures lower than 40 degrees, it is important that you let it naturally conform to its new environment.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET USED TO SLEEPING ON A MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS?

As with any new mattress, it may take a while to become accustomed to your new purchase. Most people are very comfortable using their mattress on the first night. Others however, may need several days to adjust to its unique feeling.

IS IT NORMAL FOR FOAM PRODUCTS TO HAVE A SLIGHT ODOR AFTER OPENING?

Yes. Due to its unique manufacturing process, foam products may retain a slight odor for a few days. All foam materials have this characteristic. This is normal and harmless.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY MATTRESS?

Our mattresses should be spot cleaned only. We highly recommend using a mattress protector, but if you don’t and spots and stains make it onto your mattress, please do not remove the mattress cover. Doing so would ruin the mattress. We recommend spot cleaning with a mild detergent and letting it air dry. You can find additional care tips on our Mattress Care page.
